Eleanor Power grew up in Paradise, NL, where she found freedom and fascination in the natural world. She completed her Bachelor of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and spent six years as a substitute classroom Teacher. She then dedicated nine years to the Manuels River Interpretation Centre as the Lead Science Interpreter. At Manuals River, Eleanor worked with people of all ages to encourage and promote conservation, education, and recreation. She believes that science and the study of natural phenomena can lead to the betterment of our lives.
Eleanor currently serves as the Education and Training Co-ordinator at SEM Ltd., where she lends her expertise to the team in research, teaching fundamentals, and training modules for various industries. She always looks forward to teaching and learning with her colleagues and clients and looks forward to the challenges and successes she will find with #TeamSEM.
