Electrical Engineer

Our client requires the services of one or more individuals to join its engineering and project management team. The individual(s) will support the execution of projects throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Provide technical support to the Project Manager on various projects;
  • Review tender packages prepared by other consultants and contractors;
  • Review shop drawings prepared by contractors and vendors;
  • Prepare tender packages for contracts;
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs);
  • Provide technical input as a design team member for projects and other technical documentation;
  • Direct and supervise consultants and contractors during the completion of specific engagements;
  • Review and approve reports prepared by consultants;
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required;
  • Travel to site as required to provide technical input and field support.

PROJECT LIST: Note that the following list is indicative only. The successful candidate(s) will work on some of the following projects and others, as the need arises and as other projects are defined throughout the year.
  • Spillway Gate Program
  • Crane Refurbishment
  • Multiple projects relating to governor system refurbishment
  • Governor Digitization
  • P&C and SCADA upgrades
  • Substation Refurbishment
  • Substation disconnect replacement
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
  • Engineering Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 5 years or more experience in construction projects;
  • Field experience, particularly relating to hydro-electric facilities or the electrical industry in general is considered desirable;
  • Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment;
  • A valid driver’s license will be required as there will be some travel involved.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: October 4, 2025
ANTICIPATED END DATE: December 31, 2025
ESTIMATED EFFORT TIME: 37.5 hours per week
Other Considerations:
  1. Special Conditions: A valid driver’s license will be required as there may be some travel involved.
  2. Location: St. John’s, NL area. Travel to various work sites may be periodically required.
  3. Anticipated Start Date: October 4, 2025 (Subject to change, at Company’s sole discretion).
  4. Anticipated End Date: December 31, 2025 (The term of the engagement may be extended or terminated at any time as per the terms and conditions outlined in the Standing Offer Agreement with the option to extend for up to a total of 5 years).
  5. Hours: Normal hours for this work scope are 37.5 hours per week.
