• Collect and analyze water and soil samples
• Prepare field notes and accurate data entry
• Maintain accurate records as per company QA/QC protocols
• Utilize various field instruments for data collection
• Technical writing and report preparation for a broad spectrum of topics including, but not limited to: species at risk, avifauna, rare plants, wetlands, air quality, water quality, etc.
• Maintain field equipment and ensure equipment is calibrated
• Participate in vegetation, wildlife, and aquatic surveys
• Operate trucks, boats, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles
• Perform lifting and manual tasks as required
• Hike over rough terrain and/or snow in various weather conditions
• Travel within Newfoundland and Labrador, including remote locations
• Collaborate with biologists, surveyors, engineers, and scientists
• Other responsibilities as required
• Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields of study
• Demonstrated data organization and general computer skills
• Experience working in mines is an asset but not required
• Willingness to work overtime as required, including weekends
• GIS experience and knowledge is considered an asset
• Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or equivalent)
