Cloud Engineer

SEM is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer. In this role, you'll design, develop, and maintain the cloud infrastructure for a Geographic Information System (GIS) application. This application will use hybrid cloud architecture, integrating both Azure cloud services and on-premises physical servers. The application’s data pipelines will intake various GIS data types and use AI tools to deliver advanced geospatial solutions. The successful applicant will work to ensure the infrastructure is secure, efficient and scalable alongside a well-rounded team of developers.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions for the GIS application
  • Develop and maintain robust cloud-based services and tools
  • Integrate diverse data types and AI tools into the Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Ensure the security, scalability and reliability of the environment
  • Collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team to achieve project objectives
  • Monitor and optimize performance, along with associated costs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the hybrid environment
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar professional role, ideally with hybrid cloud environments
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud platform
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise / Online and GIS applications
  • Proficiency in integrating AI tools and handling diverse data types
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, scalability, and reliability
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
