Environmental Compliance Technician

SEM is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Compliance Technician to be based out of our Labrador City, NL office. The technician will assist in completing work of various disciplines both in the field and office.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular sampling, testing, and reporting of water and wastewater quality parameters
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance data and prepare reports for regulatory agencies
  • Using various field instruments for collection of data while maintaining accurate sampling records in accordance with company quality assurance/quality control protocols
  • Maintaining field equipment and calibrating field and laboratory instruments
  • Operating trucks, boats, ATVs, and snowmobiles
  • Taking part in the planning, execution and implementation of field programs
  • Monitoring and Operation of a Wastewater Treatment Plant
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in natural sciences/studies such as Biology, Chemistry, Forestry, Fish and Wildlife, Environmental Science, Geology, or related area of study
  • Strong computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel are a must
  • Experience operating ATVs, snowmobiles and boats considered an asset
  • Experience working outdoors
  • Willingness to work overtime as required including weekends
  • Experience working in mines is an asset but not a requirement
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
