Project Overview

The Iron Ore Company of Canada or IOC is an Canadian Iron Ore Mine and port which is majority-owned by Rio Tinto.

Visitor tours of their site posed safety risks so IOC reached out to us for a virtual reality tour of their mine and port facilities. SEM Productions worked closely with IOC Communications & External Relations to deliver a product that met and exceeded all stakeholder expectations.

Over the course of this project we shot and edited aerial 360° video including blasting and mining equipment, truck mounted 360° video, and ground 360° video of all of IOC’s major facilities and assets. Motion graphics and voiceover were inserted for additional context.

This tour was made available on Facebook as an 18-20 minute experience in English and French as well as our IOC360° Tour Oculus Go app. SEM Productions also designed the VR Kiosk to house the preloaded Oculus Go which is standing today at Gateway Labrador in Labrador City.
