SEM Ltd designed and 3D printed a mount which converts a normal high payload drone into an air quality sampling drone. We tested this drone in Labrador City because of the two mining operations in town as well as beside the Holyrood Thermal Plant. With a compensation for drone propellor wash and control tests, we were able to achieve comparable results to ground-based AQ sampling.

For quick remote sampling, drone-mounted AQ samplers are a viable alternative to ground-based sampling.
