Kathryn Dawe is an Environmental Chemist with SEM based in St. John’s, NL. Since joining SEM in 2018, Kathryn has applied her broad background in environmental data analysis and presentation, technical writing, atmospheric science and practical laboratory skills to a number of projects.
Her previous experience as an academic researcher and an industrial laboratory technician has allowed her to work with a diverse range of samples such as fish, water, air, bitumen, and gas oil. While in academia, she provided sampling and analytical assistance for environmental studies of emerging contaminants such as polybrominated diphenyl esters (PDBEs), and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). She has extensive knowledge in sample handling and data quality control to mitigate error and maintain sample integrity.
