A Labrador West local, Makaila grew up spending her free time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and Nordic skiing. Makaila is a recent graduate of the Fish and Wildlife Technician program at College of the North Atlantic. She worked as a Fish Ecology Research Assistant at Memorial University through the Women in Science and Engineering program, focusing on stream surveys around the St. Johns, NL area. Makaila joined our team in May of 2021 as an Environmental Technician and takes part in field work with interest in fish ecology and habitat management.
