Melanie is a Professional engineer with over 20 years experience in leadership and project management, overseeing a variety of teams and projects across the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. She has worked with the Government of the Northwest Territories, Department of Lands, as a Manager, Director, and Assistant Deputy Minister, and has extensive experience with consultation and engagement with Indigenous Governments and Organizations and other stakeholders. Melanie also has extended environmental experience as a contaminated sites senior advisor, policy advisor and analyst, and project manager with the Government of the Northwest Territories and as a consultant.
Melanie is an analytical, collaborative, and goal-oriented individual who is recognized as a strategic planner and decision maker. She is well-versed in the regulatory regime, social, political, and economic environment of Canada’s Northern Territories. Throughout her career she has been regarded as a trusted team member, communicator, change manager, administrator, and influencer behind the achievement of complex goals and objectives.
